What is a HBAL Registered Remodeler?
A Home Builders Association Registered Remodeler is not simply a title that can be purchased and displayed on company vehicles and advertising. A Registered Remodeler is a professional designation granted to a builder who meets specific requirements. In order to become a Registered Remodeler, an applicant must:
- Provides each customer with a contract that shall be fair and equitable to both parties and a one-year limited warranty.
- Have experience in the home or commercial construction profession for a specified period of time.
- Have demonstrated financial and on-site responsibilities
- Be a full-tile professional who derives his or her principal income from construction and / or related real estate activities.
- Submit the names of previous customers as references.
- Have a Registered Builder/Remodeler sponsors with personal knowledge of the applicants construction activity and business integrity.
- Must have acceptable credit history
- Appear before the Registered Builder Committee for a personal interview.
- Must agree to take part in continuing education.
- Must agree to abide by the Code of Ethics of the Home Builders Association of Louisville.
- Must agree to a conciliation process and/or binding arbitration in the event of an unresolved complaint from a customer
